Exploring the Marina Bay

This concrete jungle is unmistakable. Marvel at the soaring skyline made by the union of skyscrapers that meet the bay. Walk the Marina surrounded by these glass giants, get a dose of nature in Gardens by the Bay, or enjoy the view from the top of some of its most iconic buildings such as Sands SkyPark or Marina Bay Sands.

Walking around Merlion Park

In this lovely park just by the water and with a mesmerizing skyline view you'll get to meet one of Singapore’s icons: the Merlion, a mixture of a lion and a fish. This majestic sculpture is modeled after the mythical creature with the same name and its body is a symbol of the city. The body is a representation of the fishing villages and the head of Singapura (Sanskrit for “lion city”).

Immersing yourself in National Gallery Singapore

Visit this art jewel that houses more than 8,000 pieces from Singapore’s National Collection. A proud showcase of some of the most emblematic and inspiring art from Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists, this modern gallery is housed by the City Hall and the former Supreme Court. Get a taste of a mix of heritage pieces and modern art.

Shopping in Orchard Road

There’s no better place to indulge in some personal or souvenir shopping than the Orchard Road. This boulevard modeled after the Forbidden City is bursting with life, futuristic architecture, and plenty of options for all tastes: from luxury connoisseurs to deal hunters. Here you can visit some of the most famous retail stores such as TANGS, ION Orchard or Far East Plaza

Escaping the city for a taste of nature

For the nature enthusiasts there’s plenty to see. If you’re looking for a hike with splendid views, MacRitchie Nature Trail & Reservoir Park in the heart of the city is the way to go. There you will also get a taste of adrenaline by crossing the Treetop Walk, a suspension bridge that is 250m high! If you want to explore beautiful places that are a little bit farther, you can have a walk down the 10km trail known as the Southern Ridges or spend an evening in the Seletar Reservoir.

Getting around the city

The city has a public transport system that is swift and effective. To get around on MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) or bus, you can purchase a Singapore Tourist Pass (STP) which allows you to travel with no limit for one, two or three days.

You can also go around in taxis or use ride-hailing apps such as Grab, Gojek, Ryde and TADA.
